Burglar Snags Over $4,500 From Massapequa Park Store: Police

Police are searching for a man who they say stole thousands of dollars of merchandise from a Long Island Rite Aid.

It happened on Friday, March 8 in Massapequa, according to Nassau County Police.

At around 9:45 p.m., a man walked into the Rite Aid located at 5125 Merrick Road with a backpack and a shopping bag.

The manager of Rite Aid said the alleged thief walked into the restricted area of the store, going all the way into the store’s basement. He later walked out, leaving the manager to discover that $4,700 worth of merchandise had been taken.

Police described the suspect as a Black man who is about 5-foot-10 with a slim build.

He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, black pants, and a mask. Additionally, he was carrying a black backpack and an orange shopping bag.
